With the October half-term getting closer, we wanted to put together a list of local Hertfordshire activities for children and families to enjoy during the 2023 October Half-Term holidays.
There are a variety of Halloween events local to our Watford and Hemel Hempstead schools.
Not all events have been tried and tested by us, so please do read further information on their websites.
> October | Spooktacular Trivia Trail | Hemel Hempstead Town Centre & Old Town | Free
Take part in the Spooktacular Trivia Trail running through the Town Centre and Hemel Old Town. Tread cautiously along the trail to find all 11 eerie locations, each hosting a poster with a Halloween-themed question. Down load the Loyal Free app and scan the QR code on each poster to unlock the answers, discover spine-tingling facts and enter the free prize draw.

The Pumpkin Patch displays are free to enter, but you can also pick and pay for your own pumpkin this Halloween.

Families can enjoy the spooky trail, pumpkin picking and carving, horrid hay tractor ride, pumpkin bingo, decorations throughout the farm and much more.

Wander through their secret pumpkin patch and pick your very own perfect pumpkin (or will it choose you?!) Once you’ve selected your favourite, give it character by decorating it with a fun face

Get your broomsticks, hats and magic wands at the ready and venture into Knebworth Gardens this Autumn for a Halloween Adventure!

Their Ghost Adventurers have been out in their mystery van looking for ghosts, but horror strikes when the van gets stuck in the mud and two of the team disappear. Can you help the mystery team investigate the creepy looking house, solve the clues and find the missing friends? Join the Magical Story Elves team on this fun, interactive Halloween themed children’s show full of music and games.
