Friday 20th October 2023 marked Show Racism the Red Card’s ‘Wear Red Day’.
The UK’s leading anti-racism education charity raises vital awareness for the toxic racism that still exists within certain parts of our society. Founded in part by Shaka Hislop (ex-Newcastle United goalkeeper) following his own experience of racial abuse, the charity seeks to educate people of all ages in order to create a more generous and harmonious experience for all. The charity was involved in the numerous ‘Take the Knee’ initiatives, often using sport to publicise its work.
At Bovingdon, our staff take this topic very seriously and sought to raise awareness on this day by wearing red in support of this event. We have also arranged a visit from a representative of this charity in November, which we are greatly looking forward to. Date to follow…
