Bovingdon Primary became an Academy in 2011.  Aspire Academies Trust was the first trust within Hertfordshire to have three schools in our partnership.  And for us, that was just the beginning.

We were one of the first primary school trusts to include a teaching school.  This brings huge benefits to our network and enables us to secure the future of our Academies through the ongoing development and retention of quality teaching staff.

Bovingdon Primary Academy is a two-form entry school, ranging from Nursery to Year 6.  We are extremely proud of our successes to date, having been graded outstanding by Ofsted in 2005 and 2008.

We have excellent partnerships within our local community.  We offer a wide range of activities in our extended provision.  Activities such as; pottery to board games along with a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) where many sports clubs and PE lessons occur.  At BPA we offer 2 spacious child friendly areas for children to learn and play for Early Years, KS1 and KS2.  In addition to this, we are extremely lucky to have a wooded learning and play area for all year groups to access and have outdoor learning.

We have a diverse and supportive team at Bovingdon whom all work together to create a safe, purposeful learning environment for each unique child.’

On Friday 19th June we had the privilege of our Prime Minister Boris Johnson visiting in his words ‘wonderful Bovingdon Primary’.

This was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate to the PM how well we are managing the social distancing and  our online home learning.  Our school was on many news programmes, locally and nationwide, we were even mentioned in other countries such as Australia and Canada.

It was a great day for both children and staff alike whom also sang Happy Birthday to the Prime Minister.
