Welcome to the Bovingdon Primary Academy website which has been designed to keep parents informed and to give newcomers an introduction to our academy, to our staff, our governors and to the children.
I hope our website will answer many of your questions but should you have further queries, please telephone, email or visit the school – you will be most welcome.
I am privileged to have a team of talented, professional and dedicated staff who aim to create a primary academy in which every pupil will flourish in a caring, happy environment.
Prior to becoming an academy in July 2011, our school was graded outstanding in two Ofsted reports in 2005 and in 2008. We have also gained a number of national and local awards for excellence. In 2010 the school became a National Support School. In 2011 we attained the most outstanding achievement becoming one of the first schools in the country to be allocated Teaching School Status by the National College of School Leadership.
We are proud to be part of the Aspire Academies Trust, and to have opportunities to collaborate and innovate with our colleagues at Bedmond Academy, Broadfield Academy, Hammond Academy, Knutsford Academy, The Grove Academy and the West Herts Teaching School Partnership.
We remain fully committed to continuous improvement, our academy strives to provide a high-quality education for all of our children, underpinned by a caring ethos, providing individuals with stimulating intellectual and creative challenges and wide-ranging opportunities to develop personal excellence.
Our children achieve consistently excellent results in our end of Key Stage Assessments in Literacy, Numeracy and Science. The commitment to hard work by both staff and pupils are the principle reason for this success.
Our academy vision is:
- Instil these core values for life: respect, enthusiasm, courtesy, dedication and pride, by positive example.
- Ensure high academic achievement through outstanding teaching which builds confidence, independence and initiative.
- Provide an innovative and creative curriculum, developed and delivered with high expectations for progress.
- Encourage a strong sense of belonging and involvement ensuring everyone is heard.
- Actively engage with the wider community in developing life skills to enhance, enrich and reinforce learning.
To achieve these aims, we believe that good teamwork is essential. We believe very strongly in the need to form a close partnership between the staff, parents and pupils. We aim to make certain that our school is a place where all pupils will be happy, challenged and able to make an individual contribution to the success of the academy.
So, whether you are an existing or prospective parent, or are seeking future employment at our academy, we warmly invite you to visit us and look forward to welcoming you in the near future.
