Colour Our World Overview

Over the next few weeks, we will be learning through a theme: Colour Our World. Rainbows have been a symbol of hope over the last few months and we thought it would be a fantastic theme to start this final half term. Children at home and at school will be following the same lessons.

With the exception of maths and spelling, all other activities have been colour-coded:
Blue tasks are pitched at an EYFS level.
Green tasks are pitched at a Year 1 and 2 level.
Yellow tasks are pitched at a Year 3 and 4 level.
Purple tasks are pitched at a Year 5 and 6 level.

The purpose of the ‘coloured’ tasks is so that children with additional needs can access appropriate tasks. English tasks may be refined further by using a star. The star indicates that the task is most suited to the older year group. If you are unsure of which task your child should complete, please contact their teacher.

English

The whole school will be using the same writing stimulus. We have produced short videos that your children can watch which will explain their activity each day. The genre of writing will be the same for all children but the task will be differentiated for children’s age and ability. The videos have been created so that siblings can watch together and support each other if needed.
